Shot on film.
A Canon A-1 from the basement, and why I keep shooting on it.
I found the camera in my basement. When my stepdad saw me using it, he told me it had been his grandfather's, which I suppose makes it my step-great-grandfather's, and that he had loved shooting on it himself back in college. It had a history before it got to me.
Film is the most artistic form of photography for me. You don't know how a shot turned out until it's processed, and there's something beautiful in that. You get one shot at one moment. I can't hold the button down and pick the best of twenty later. Everything the camera catches is light staining the film. It's as simple and direct as it gets.
Mostly I shoot whatever I happen to be standing in front of: old buildings and the light on them, streets seen from above, water, and the occasional cat. I like frames with a lot going on in them, and I would rather catch a place as it is than set anything up.
